My Recollections of our Family's Time at Pioneer Lodge on Aylen Lake, Ontario, Canada in the late 50s and early 60s

Last night I finished your book. I want to tell you how much I enjoyed it. You did a great job remembering, explaining and putting down on paper your feelings. You and your family truly had many adventures while up at Aylen Lake.  In the book you wrote about us being there. I still remember when we took the boat ride up the lake, hugging the shore line. I was eight months pregnant with my oldest son Mark, he is sixty four years old now. I was afraid I would have him while I was there. I asked your mother how far away it was to the nearest hospital. Your mother answered that I should not be worried because she would deliver him. Now, I was really scared.

This is a true story set in the late 50's about a family who left suburbia to move to the north country.  During this time they endured many hardships to follow a dream.  A heartfelt story.

The Author writes about a snapshot of time in our family's history.  Dreams are followed, many challenges are met and relationships endured.  It was a fantastically emotional read

I am retired and live in beautiful Blind Bay in British Columbia.  I was a Mobile Heavy Duty Mechanic and worked extensively north of the 60th parallel and in Alberta.  I love to follow my nose, look around the corner and see whats there.  At the same time, I appreciate where I came from and sharing those experiences.

I don't want to live in the past, I just like to visit there once in a while.
